To Resolve or not to resolve

I resolve the following in no particular order. Ladies and Gentlemen, please place your bets at the window for how long these will last.

I resolve to:

1. make this a year of change.
2. start an anime/manga blog.
3. try not to be such an awful procrastinator when grading papers this year.
4. accept more social invitations.
5. brush Boo more often.
6. buy health insurance (gah!)
7. write more letters. (If you are looking for a gift for me -- funky stationery is always appreciated).
8. volunteer somewhere.
9. eat more fruit.

I resolve not to:

1. be negative

Kudos to you! Change is hard, but the bigger the change, the more likely it is to stick. I am throwing out (not necessarily 'away') something every week this year until I am back to a manageable amount of stuff. Tired of the weight of my possessions! I remember when all my belongings fit into my car.

As the late Ms. Butler wrote:

All that you touch
You Change.

All that you Change
Changes you.

The only lasting truth
Is Change.

God
Is Change.

Joey and Cheryl: I'll keep that in mind. This past summer, my catsitter, though wonderful in a lot of ways, did not brush Boo and she had such awful, awful mats. I thought about having her shaved. I managed to cut out a lot. Poor thing!

Kate: I know what you mean. I'm also tackling my guest bedroom. I've been throwing out papers that I don't need anymore. I should never hold onto student papers because I just forget about them. And do they ever come back for them after a year?
