Rough Day

It's been an up and down day in an up and down week and then the last person I want to deal with pulls a traditional "hey, don't forget that I'm a jerk!" It's just too poopy for words.

Hey, at least I beat the snow and ice tonight. Oddly enough I'm trying to plan a tour to Alaska with my mother. I figured we both needed a vacation. I suppose Juneau in June is not Connecticut in February (the longest month of the year and there's an extra day this time!). Anybody been to Alaska and can give me advice?

Kick that jerk in the teeth!

All I know about Alaska is what I learned from the Voluptuous Horror of Karen Black:

Goin' to A-las-ka, I'm goin' to A-las-ka!

It's gotten better. Thanks for the happy thoughts.

I like the tags on your post:

'jerks, vacation'

Kinda says it all!

I hope your day gets better! I've always anted to go to Alaska as well! I've heard that there's tons of mosquitos in summer and the days are very long. It also looks amazingly beautiful.

Miss Wendy:

I just had a bit of a chat with Melanie, our Dean's right hand whose daughter lives in Alaska. She says it's great for hiking, helicopter rides over glaciers, and there's an historic railroad.

She also had a suggestion if you want to see more and hike less: take a flight to Seattle then take a cruise up along the coast. You get to stop here and there and see all kinds of areas. Something to consider!

I definitely need a vacation! Thanks for all the advice.

Oh, and one more thing: Melanie said that the Norwegian cruises are the best. Her daughter works in the tourist industry and that's her recommendation: "They wait on you hand and foot."
